A busy day at the Castledale goods depot, as pipes for Keen's the Builder wait to be unloaded at the goods platform. Various items of cargo can be seen standing around, including the ever-present packing cases manufactured by Joe Boxer in his factory at Boxer's Yard near Dalefoot(Bridge Road). People have been known to ask what was in the packing cases, but in fact they ARE the cargo and are used by other businesses in the area and further afield.
The buildings on Castledale are mainly scratchbuilt, being constructed of card with a covering of 'Superquick' building paper. The track is Peco code 75 and the ballast is fine granite chippings stuck down with dilute PVA.
The crane is a Wills Finecast kit with a scratchbuilt chequerplate mounting. You may just be able to see the iron 'staple' on to which the hook is fastened when not in use.
