Keen's is the local builder. It is convenient having his yard next to the goods yard, as much of his heavy materials come by rail. The JCB (or motorist's friend) is a Mk.1 machine and is constructed from a Dapol kit.
There has been some discussion at shows about the date at which the builder's skip was first introduced - I have evidence of Dinky Toys introducing a model of one of these in 1956. Known as the Morell Multibucket, this was a working model in their Supertoys range. The skip was near enough identical to the modern day version; obviously a case of getting it right first time. If you have one of these please email us.
