Filey Yard, unlike Andrew's previous boxfile layouts, utilises two boxfiles as opposed to one, in order to increase the operational interest slightly.
Filey Yard (so-called of course for perhaps obvious reasons!), is a small industrial shunting layout, which features a private factory siding, a small goods/coal yard, and a small engine shed to add to the operational potential. The track work is by Peco, with the points hand-operated by the wire in tube method. Most of the buildings and other fittings are from contemporary manufacturers - one or two of these in fact have been salvaged from a scrapbox, having seen use on previous layouts! Grass and weeds are represented using Woodlands Scenics products, while Scenic Rust has proved very effective in helping to represent a run-down, industrial scene.
Filey Yard took about three months to build, and attempts to show just what can be achieved where space, and perhaps other resources, are limited.
