The Tanfield Railway are holding their annual 'Legends of Steam' weekend on September 11th. and 12th. We will be exhibiting Dalefoot (Bridge Road) and Nutt & Bolton in the model railway event held in the carriage shed..
This is always an exciting event, with lots of live steam action on the preserved railway, as well as other steam attractions.
June 2010 - the former Weardale Railway Locomotive Preservation Group (WRLPG) has changed its name and will now be known as DLPG (Durham Locomotive Preservation Group). The group will continue to support the Weardale Railway as well as other local groups including the Bowes Railway and the NRM Shildon, with which strong ties have been created over recent years. The name change is intended to recognise DLPG as a stand alone group. Look out for their workshop open day in October (more details later).
In case you haven't already noticed, we have a new 'Features' page on the site.
This page will be used to showcase a number of items such as our new 'Loco of the Month' feature, construction articles modelling closeups etc
See the Diary page for details of our forthcoming appearances.
